创作中那些自出机杼的表达，往往都能在早先的作品里找到源头。创作上的承袭与前人的联系，通常通过作品里的用典展现出来，也体现在对前人词句、意象等的化用之上。不过，不能就单纯地挪用前人的词句和意象来创作，更不能盲目地模仿，否则很可能沦为抄袭，走进复古主义的套路。
No Work Is Created from Thin Air
Every original literary creation owes something to the works that came before it. The connection between later works and their antecedents is usually demonstrated through allusions and through the adaptation of phrases, expressions, and imagery from older pieces. Yet simply borrowing phrases and imagery without understanding or reworking them can lead to plagiarism, a trap of retrogression.
